As Amelia went straight into surgery, season 14 episode 4 of Grey’s Anatomy entitled “‘Aint That a Kick in the Head” found the perfect balance of emotion and humour.

There were so many moments in this episode that I adored, below are just 9 of them (in no particular order).

1. Catherine drops the ‘S’ bomb

Stop trying to make ‘Jaggie’ happen.

As the awkward Jackson and Maggie moments continued, Catherine Avery finally gave them a long awaited reality check. Jackson may not listen to his mother, but he certainly seems to listen to his sister!

The Grey’s writers are definitely playing with us here and unfortunately, I expect Jaggie isn’t going to go away just like that.

2. Nathan makes a grand gesture

Nathan was M.I.A for 90% of episode 4. But, for good reason.

After Meredith finally stopped ignoring his calls, she answered to the news that Nathan was actually bringing Megan’s son to Seattle. Now Nathan’s made this grand gesture for Megan, will they give things another go? Well, we’ve got a few weeks to wait before we find out!

3. Amelia and Owen

Although I’m not Owen’s biggest fan, I was happy with how the episode ended. These two have been through a lot together and they need each other’s support. I certainly didn’t want them to just give up on their marriage straight away, so thankfully they’re fighting for it.

We need all of the couples back together!

4. April and Arizona

Ever since their hilarious “can I try on your leg?” scene in Season 10, I’ve been rooting for this friendship.

April is now divorced and going through the struggle of being apart from her child, something that Arizona has also gone through. Their small scene in 14×04 was both supportive and sweet, as Arizona gave her just the encouragement she needed.

5. Meredith looks up at Derek

It was a small moment, but it didn’t half break me.

6. Deluca supports Amelia

After Steph left in Season 13, I wondered who was going to take her place under Amelia’s wing. I definitely didn’t expect it to be DeLuca, but I’m 100% here for it. After her surgery, he stood up for her and stayed by her side to ensure she recovered. He reassured her, kept her calm and I hope these two are going to be the new neuro duo.

7. “TUMOR”

This was a hilarious group scene that I hope we get more and more of. Making a light-hearted moment out of something pretty dark is where Grey’s seems to excel most.

8. Richard and the dog

I’m all for Grey’s bringing in new characters, so long as this dog gets to be one of them.

In 14 seasons of Grey’s Anatomy, I don’t think I’ve ever thought “I wish I was Richard Webber” before. But watching that dog constantly run up to him made me extremely envious.

9. “Do you know who the president is?”

Ok, now this has to be the best line of the episode. This not so subtle shade at Trump is everything I need and more.
